Let me start off by saying that Citrine is my all time favorite crystal. Even before I started on my magical journey with its inclusion of crystals and essential oils, I was drawn to this amazing crystal.
When visiting my home or office, you will find several different citrine crystals placed all about. I also never leave home without being adorned by a piece of citrine jewelry. The benefits of wearing citrine are too good to leave at home.
In fact, I have found many bracelets and pendants tucked away, long forgotten, that I’d purchased over many years without realizing the gemstone type.
Citrine colors range from pale yellow to almost brown. Color depends on if the gemstone is heat-treated or naturally forming. You will find that most citrine on the market today is actually heat-treated amethyst. The heat-treated variety of citrine will generally come out as a beautiful golden brown, as shown above. Natural citrine, does not have the clarity of heat treated citrine, although is beautiful with all the natural inclusions and imperfections.
Interesting Facts about Citrine:
- November’s birthstone
- Is generally mined in Brazil, Africa, Madagascar, and USA
- Relatively commonly found gemstone
- Historically, Roman legionnaires wore citrine on their breast-plate to protect themselves from the evil looks and envies of others
Now for the Fun Metaphysical Aspects of Citrine!
- Attracts wealth and abundance
- Linked to the creative process and expansion
- Activates the imagination
- Enhances mental clarity
- Opens the flow of ideas and visualizing
- Strengthens mental flow to establish goals

Make use of your crystals during meditation.
You may choose to cradle your crystals in your hands while holding your hands in an upright receptive position.
Lying on your back to place citrine on your solar plexus chakra is also a great way to meditate with this stone as citrine is known to clear the solar plexus chakra. The solar plexus chakra is located between your navel and your breast bones. An easy way to remember which chakra citrine corresponds to is that the color yellow is associated with your solar plexus chakra.
Using citrine crystals during meditation will open you up to clarity and will guide you in your creative endeavors.
Wearing Your Stones
Keep gemstones you are currently working with near or on your body. This will keep you surrounded by the healing and metaphysical crystal energy that you are trying to infuse.
You may hear women speak of carrying crystals in their bras. I’m not one of those women as I’d rather not have to worry about losing any that may fall out. Yes, I have tried the wearing of gemstones in my bra, and I have lost many gemstones.
Rather, I chose to wear mine as jewelry. Mostly, you will find me wearing bracelets but I also have several pendants and rings to change things up.
For the less visible gemstone lover, you may also choose to carry pocket stones.
Pocket stones are gemstones that have been cut and polished into a flatter smoother stone that is easy to slip into your pocket. These are great to use as worry stones as well. When stressed, pull out your stone and run your fingers across the surface to reduce your worries and fears.
For those of you that like to grid, a citrine generator is a must have. Use this in the center of your manifestation and abundance grids for added power.
To sum all of this up.
Whether you just want a pretty gemstone to wear or are looking for the metaphysical characteristics, you really can’t find a better stone for manifesting prosperity.
